Fulfilling a life long dream of owning his own business, John Ballam founded Ballam Insurance in 1986. As a former Commercial Lines Underwriter, he has experience on both the company and broker side. John's main focus is to provide quality insurance solutions at a fair price with emphasis on service to a wide variety of commercial clientele.

Barb has been working at Ballam Insurance since 1989 as a personal lines customer service representative. Barb has over 30 years experience in the insurance business. As one of our most loyal employees, she is well known by many of our clients.
Maureen Crowell, BSC, CAIB

Maureen graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University in 1992, with her science degree in math and computers. Maureen joined the insurance industry in 1993 and shortly after she received her insurance license to begin working as an agent. Maureen came to work at Ballam in April 2002, where she started as a personal lines customer service representative. She was soon promoted to Personal Lines Sales Manager. Maureen now focuses on quoting and writing policies for new and existing customers.
Derek Flight, CAIB

Derek started his insurance career in 1982 with Able Insurance. He began as a sales and service representative of personal, commercial and life insurance. Following the merger of Able Insurance to Ballam Insurance in 1999, Derek moved into the position of Account Executive, responsible for the production and servicing of commercial accounts.
Mike Graham, CIP

Mike started in the insurance industry in 1999 and joined Ballam Insurance in July 2001. He formed part of the team that provided quality service to Personal Lines Clients until his promotion to Commercial Lines Department in June, 2007. As Independent Business Coordinator, Mike now provides insurance solutions through sales and service of small commercial lines accounts. Mike has completed his CIP designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada.
Wavey Flight, CAIB

Wavey started her career in 1981 at Able Insurance as an Office Administrator and in 1986 she was promoted to the position of Office Manager. In 1999 Able Insurance merged with Ballam Insurance at which time she assumed the role of Office Manager for both companies. She continues to work diligently to ensure the clientele of Ballam Insurance are provided with quality service as well she provides support to the President, John Ballam in all areas of the business.
Kim MacInnis, CIP

Kim has been working in the insurance industry since 2001 and in June of 2007 she joined Ballam Insurance as a Commercial Account Manager. In 2006, Kim completed her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation from the Insurance Institute of Canada. Through her rigorous training, Kim achieved a high level of property and casualty insurance knowledge. She is committed to lifelong learning and professional development to stay abreast with the ever evolving insurance industry.
