Personal Automobile Coverage
Automobile Insurance protects you against an unforeseen occurrence, or “accident,” that occurs at a given time or place, resulting in physical injury to a person or property. “Occurrence” is more of an ordinary event, accepted, excludes the idea of chance or accident or of violence or of design.
COVERAGE
Liability
Liability pays for bodily injury or death of any person or damage of property arising from the ownership use or operation of an automobile.
Accident Benefits
Accident Benefits will pay all reasonable expenses within four years from the date of the accident for necessary medical, surgical, dental, chiropractic, hospital, professional nursing and ambulance service. It will also pay up to $ 1,000.00 funeral expense in the event of death of any one person as a result of an accident. Will also pay limited amounts for death benefits and loss of income payments.
Uninsured Motorist
This coverage will pay all amounts that you would have been legally entitled to but were unable to collect because the third party had no insurance.
Collision
Collision pays for damages caused by collision with another object or by upset. This coverage provides coverage for claims deemed "at fault". A deductible would apply for each claim.
Comprehensive
Comprehensive is the loss or damage from any perils other than by collision with another object or upset. A deductible would apply for each claim.
Specified Perils
Specified Perils covers for damages caused by fire, lightning, theft or attempted theft, windstorm, earthquake, hail, explosion, riot, falling or forced landing of aircraft or of parts thereof, rising water or stranding, sinking, burning, derailment or collision of any conveyance on or upon which the automobile is being transported on land or water. A deductible would apply for each claim.
Endorsements (SEF--Standard Endorsement Form)
There are many endorsements available which can be added to your automobile policy. These endorsements can either add, delete, restrict or enhance coverage.
NON-STANDARD AUTO
Also referred to as ‘Facility,’ Non-Standard automobile insurance is a way for owners and licensed drivers to obtain coverage that would otherwise be difficult to find. Typically, this insurance is with a sub-standard market rather than a regular insurer -- the result of not meeting certain underwriting guidelines. Non-Standard insurance is generally expensive, though for many it is one of the few remaining options for coverage. Coverages for this type of policy are the same as a standard automobile policy.
RECREATIONAL VEHICLE
These are considered recreational vehicles and coverage is similar to a standard automobile policy, which includes mandatory liability and accident benefits as well as coverage for physical damage. Trailers, incidentally, are vehicles hauled by a motor vehicle and not equipped with their own motors Liability coverage is extended from the towing vehicle, without charge. In addition, you can purchase physical damage coverage for your trailer.
